His day

Today is his special day. Today years ago he came to this world and now he is here making me happy. As my mom said he has a pure soul.
He makes everyone laugh and it's impossible not to smile when you are next to him. He is sweet, he cares about everyone around him. He has a huge heart. He does everything he can to help others.

He dances.

He cooks.

He watches girlie shows with me just because I like. He gives me stuffed animals and pretend they are our kids and that's how I know he will be an amazing dad.

He is an uncle, a Godfather and he is as excited as me to see my parents on Christmas and to meet baby Allegra.

He is the love of my life. I can't live without him. Today is his special day and I love to see him this happy.

Happy Birthday my Gummy Bear!

Hoje é o dia dele. Hoje, anos atrás, ele chegou nesse mundo e agora ele está aqui me fazendo feliz.

Ele sabe cozinhar.

Ele assiste "girlie" tv shows comigo só porque eu gosto.

Birds and Sheep

I have a very interesting relationship with birds, I love them but I would never have one - I think they are meant to be free. But somehow I feel they follow me everywhere.
When I lived in Brazil we would get a visit everyday in the morning (at the same time) and when I was in vacation I would wake up with them tweeting on our balcony.

When I moved to New York the exact same thing happened. As soon as the weather got warm I would get awaken up by the same little bird on my window. In New Jersey because I lived with so many trees around I had the pleasure to have the birdies around also.

Now I live in Massachusetts in an apartment and guess what? Birds made a nest under the roof next to our window! And everyday at 8am they wake up and sing and - when I'm lucky enough to be still in bed at that time - I wake up feeling happy and blessed :)
***************
Last night I couldn't sleep and my babe told me to count sheep, the cutest thing was him saying: "see, they are jumping now... now they are waving..." with such cute sheep It's not a surprise that I fell asleep :p

Love day

This was our first V-day together (last year I was still living in NJ while he was in MA) and I couldn't be happier. I know we should "celebrate love" everyday but I don't see anything wrong with having a special day for that ;)

I love the corny stuff, flowers, chocolates and stuffed animals, so this was the perfect day for me :)

Here are some bits and pieces of our Love day:
Be mine...

The most colorful flowers in the world!

Babe and our new girlie "snowflake"... and chocolates!

First time making whoopie pies and they were delicious!

Now I can read books on my Kindle! :)

Hope everyone had a great V-day and that you continue celebrating love!

Seja meu...

As flores mais coloridas do mundo!

Babe e nossa nova menininha "floco de neve" ... e chocolates!

Primeira vez fazendo whoopie pies e estavam uma delicia!

Agora posso ler livros no meu Kindle! :)

Happenings 2

When you make the choice to live in another country you know you'll leave a lot of things behind, you know you'll leave most of your life - the life you know - behind. And with that comes the fact that most likely you won't be with your family for the Holidays, birthdays, celebrations, graduations.
I spent 4 Christmas without my family and I have no words to express how hard that is.
But this year will be different because: MY PARENTS ARE COMING FOR CHRISTMAS!

Room reserved for them! :)

Last Sunday night while talking on Skype my mom said they were looking at the ticket prices and after a couple of minutes they bought it! That made my heart so, so happy! The plan is for my brother, my sis in law, baby Allegra and my nephew Humberto to come also and if everything works out well my sissy will fly from Vegas!
That will be the happiest day of my life!
---------------------------------------------------

Happenings 1

Some days are very boring, some days bring surprises just at the end and between college, homework, movies and boyfriend I get lazy and don't post.

One of the best moments last week was to finally see a video of my niece inside her mommy's belly. Last time I've "seen" her she looked like a bean now she looks like a baby! She is just 3 months "old" but she already moves like crazy! Looks like she is having tons of fun inside her "house".

At one moment the video show this information: "I am 2.5 inches and 1.97 oz". Do you have any idea how small that is??? And she already has arms and legs!!! hahahaha To put in perspective I measured all that.

She weighs the same as 16 packets of Truvia!
And she is the size of a chapstick... yeah, a little chapstick with arms and legs :) I'm in love!

This tiny baby makes my days so, so happy! I can't even imagine how happy I will be when she comes to the world!

You can watch the video here: Allegra

Tomorrow I'll right about the other amazing news I got this weekend :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------

That day

I lived 22 years in Brazil, 3 1/2 years between NY and NJ and just 5 months in Massachusetts, so the odds of me liking football were very very little, smaller were the odds of me liking the Patriots - I could perfectly be a Giants or Jets fan - but we don't really choose what team you like, when you find the one you know.
That is why I was so crazy excited for the Superbowl and that is why I got so disappointed with the end of it.

It's difficult to know what really happened. What I saw was a team that made too many mistakes and was clearly nervous. The Giants even behind in the score, was precise, fast and they delivered. The Pats were slow, tired and they reflex were so, so slow... it sucked. I just get this upset when Brazil looses in the World Cup...

A day later I'm still a little upset but I want to believe that they will be back much better next season...

Back to school

And finally classes are back, I say finally because I was going completely nuts at home everyday... It's interesting that in Brazil I wasn't that nerdy but here I push myself so much more and I feel like anything less than a "A" is not good enough... When I lived in New Jersey all my final grades were "A's" (but one, a B in nutrition...) and the feeling of success was so wonderful! I finally felt like I was doing something right, that I was giving everything I could. It sounds silly but being Brazilian and English not being my first language, "A's" are a big deal.

So I'm back, taking four classes, and feeling a little useful again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
